Smart Agentic TV
Turns a cheap Android TV board into a clean TV you can talk to: an ad-free home screen, a phone remote and a voice assistant called Jarvis. Open source, MIT.

What it is
Smart Agentic TV turns a cheap Android TV board, the kind found in retrofitted and budget TVs, into a clean TV you can talk to. It is free, open source under MIT, and runs on your own free API keys.
What you get
- On the TV: a fast home screen with no ads and a shelf of your apps; the original launcher stays in place as a way back.
- On your phone: a remote with a round pad, volume, media keys, a touchpad mouse and typing, plus search that forgives wrong words.
- Jarvis, the assistant: "play Kantara", "turn off the TV in 30 minutes", or "when I say movie night, set the volume to 30 and open YouTube", in English, Hindi and Kannada.
Built to be safe
The phone talks to the TV over an encrypted link on home Wi-Fi only. The API keys live on the TV, not on phones. The AI can only propose actions from a fixed list, the TV checks each one, and Jarvis asks before anything hard to undo, like switching the TV off.
Running cost
It runs on the owner’s own free API keys, so there is no subscription. Jarvis tries Gemini first and falls back to Groq, so one provider’s limits or outage does not take the assistant down.
