Ordinary webcams become crowd sensors: SmartCrowd counts people, maps density by zone and predicts the next peak, so staff can open a gate before a crowd turns dangerous.
Why I built it
Stampedes at stations, temples and events start with crowding nobody saw building up. CCTV is already there; it just isn’t watching the numbers.
How it works
SmartCrowd turns ordinary webcams into crowd sensors. Computer vision in Python counts the people in each frame, maps density zone by zone, and predicts when the next peak will hit. A React dashboard shows staff where the pressure is building, early enough to open another gate.
